CONCRETE PLANT DISPATCHER / BATCHER
The Fisher Companies Ready Mix Concrete Division is currently seeking a Plant Dispatcher. With four plant locations throughout the Mid-Michigan Area – Midland (Fisher Sand & Gravel), Mt. Pleasant (Central Concrete), Alma (Central Concrete), and Clare (Central Concrete) – we’re proud to be a cornerstone of the local community since 1925.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the recording and scheduling of customer orders, typically received via phone

Responsible for batching ready mix concrete; ensuring that trucks are properly loaded and that all customer specifications are adhered to. This includes mix design, quantities, and delivery schedules.

Maintain a strong relationship with the drivers, ensuring they are properly briefed on their routes and schedules prior to leaving the plant.

Responsible for monitoring, recording, and ordering raw materials needed for the production of ready mix concrete.

Have the ability to professionally handle customer inquiries and resolve/escalate issues.

Provide back-up support to the Plant Manager as the need arises, and in their absence.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Hourly position, paid weekly. Wages are based on experience and performance. This will be discussed during the interview process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-
Dispatching experience is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
-
Strong and professional verbal communication skills – especially in phone conversations.
-
Strong multi-tasking abilities.

Strong leadership skills.
-
A Class A or B CDL is beneficial, but not required.

Experience operating heavy equipment is beneficial, but not required.
-
Experience with Command Alkon software is beneficial, but not required.

Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
